Dinosaurs: A Book Talk by Ms. Wilson’s Class

The whole second grade read a variety of texts about dinosaurs. We learned all about the job of being a paleontologist. We studied the different time periods in the Mesozoic Era. Then we researched the different dinosaurs. After we completed all of our research, we had Digging for Dinosaur Day. We became paleontologists and went hunting for fossils. We cleaned, assembled, and put the fossils on display. We had so much fun learning about dinosaurs. We think you will too. Read about dinosaurs and learn about these amazing creatures that once ruled the Earth!

The Hunt for the Seventh: A Book Talk by Josephine

I read a heart-stopping book called The Hunt for the Seventh by Cristine Morton-Shaw. In this book there are six dead children named Harriet Minerva, Oslwald Minerva, Nellie Minerva, Edwina Minerva, Thomas Minerva, and Beatrice Minerva all related to the Great Lord Minerva. Jim and Sally are the children of one of Lord Minervas’ gardeners. On their first day in Minerva Hall, Jim hears a voice saying “find the Seventh” then finds out about the six dead Minerva children. While Jim is strolling in the maze, he meets a boy he nicknamed Einstein and  he finds him confusing at first. Then Jim learns that Einstein is really Lord Henry Minerva. Is Einstein the “seventh” Jim is trying to find? Or will he have to continue his search? Read The Hunt for the Seventh by Cristine Morton-Shaw to find out.
