You Read to Me, I’ll Read to You: Very Short Fairy Tales: A Book Talk by Ms. Wilson’s Class

The whole second grade read the book You Read to Me, I’ll Read to You: Very Short Fairy Tales by Mary Ann Hoberman. We had a lot of fun reading the short stories as partners. You can get very expressive and fall into the role that you are reading. We practiced our fluency and then were able to perform the stories and make a movie. We even added the the setting and dressed as our favorite fairy tale characters. We had a really good time with these fairy tales. We think you would too! So, read You Read to Me, I’ll Read to You: Very Short Fairy Tales by Mary Ann Hoberman and maybe you will be transported to a magical world of fairy tales too!

The Tales of Beedle the Bard: A Book Talk by Daniel

I just read a bizarre book called The Tales of Beedle the Bard. It’s a book with a bunch of stories that are wizard fairy tales. The stories were translated by Hermione Granger. It also has comments on the stories from Professor Dumbledore. This is a follow up book to the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. However, one of the stories is pretty gory so I don’t recommend this to younger kids. Some of the tales are about love, some about being tolerant and generous, some about greed. To find out what the other stories are about, read The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling.
