Everything Origami: A Book Talk by Mary
I read a how-to book called Everything Origami. During my read, I created some origami crafts, such as the Samurai Helmet. This helmet would fit an American Girl Doll, but if I used a bigger square of paper, it would probably fit me. I also made a Spanish Box. The Spanish Box is like a little dish girls would put earrings and jewelery in. I am planning on making an XYZ. An XYZ is a geometric 6-half unit origami figure. The XYZ is also named after the cartesian planes used in mathimatics. Read this book to create origami.
Dinosaurs: A Book Talk by Ms. Wilson’s Class
The whole second grade read a variety of texts about dinosaurs. We learned all about the job of being a paleontologist. We studied the different time periods in the Mesozoic Era. Then we researched the different dinosaurs. After we completed all of our research, we had Digging for Dinosaur Day. We became paleontologists and went hunting for fossils. We cleaned, assembled, and put the fossils on display. We had so much fun learning about dinosaurs. We think you will too. Read about dinosaurs and learn about these amazing creatures that once ruled the Earth!
